The last painting in 2017!

I've been working on one of the snow scene since I came back from Japan last month.

It's another snow scene but I wanted to use not only blue and green.
I put lots more colors but I feel not enough yet.

Christmas tree

We haven't had any snow in Squamish yet this year but we had a lot last year around holiday season.

I went out and took so many photos last December. This is one of them. I found nice Christmas looking trees in the pond.

Imagination

After non-painting for almost 2 months, finally I finished one painting but just used my imagination. There is no place like this, but I just combined sunset and waves of ocean.

Standing in the shade of the trees and look through the bright light.

I'm still trying to paint a good painting. But not there yet.

Water

I've been challenging to paint running water for a long time.
But never done well as I wanted. 

I tried to paint a tiny stream this time and I like it. 

Time for painting snow scene.

We had so much snow in last winter. I was brave enough to go out and take pictures for my paintings.

Here is the one.

Sunset

I love painting sunset. 

I was walking downtown one evening almost 5 years ago.
The color of the sky kept changing and was so red.

I didn't have a camera at that time just made myself remember this fantastic colors.
 Then next day, I took a photo where I saw this beautiful sunset.

5 years later I put my memory and the photo together.

Simple landscape again.

I have been keeping this photo a couple of years. Finally I felt like I want to paint.

Fireweed

I had a commission painting of Garibaldi Lake last year. There were some Fireweed in that picture. After that I was so disparate to paint them again. 

Finally the Fireweed season came and I took so many photos of them. 

But I ended up using a part of old photo again. 
None of the new photos made me happy enough to paint. AH....
 

Stawamus Chief

I've painted one of our famous mountains, Garibaldi, More than 10 times.

But always not so attractive painting Stawamus Chief, this is another famous mountain in Squamish.

Because of that shape and color. The most of the parts are not covered by trees but solid rock. I've painted it twice before but only small part of the mountain or from aside.

Finally I painted Chief looking from its front face.

 

Another " a view from my window"

I've been painting more than 10 paintings the scene I saw from my window.
But more likely sunset scene. 

I was thinking to paint some new green leaves coming out after long cold winter. 

Here is the one.
 

Black and White

My "Canadian" Mom and Dad visited me from Ontario and Mom wanted me to paint the similar one of my old " black and white" painting.

I think I made better one than the old one. Just waiting for drying and put the burnish on and ship it. 

Along painting black and white, I painted another sunset painting.
Love painting sunset so much!!

Sunbeam

Again, I tried to paint sunbeam coming through trees in the woods.

I was walking in "Panorama Trail" atop of Sea to Sky gondola.
It was a quiet and sunny morning. 

Just beautiful and calm atmosphere.

 

Lots of clouds

Last February, I had a chance to see this beautiful and spiritual clouds driving highway 3 on the way home from Rossland. 

I just feel like going up into the clouds I'm not in the real world. 

My second commission painting.

One of my friends introduced another Japanese friend in February. Then she sent me a beautiful photo taken Waikiki, Hawaii. 

I was so happy to have an opportunity painting a great scene and she looked very happy to take the painting home today.

Long drive

It was a quite long drive for visiting our family in Rossland last February.

But I could see beautiful birch trees on the side of the highway.
Tall white trees were definitely caught my eyes.

We had so much snow this winter and temperature was quite cold too.
  
Every winter I was trying to take good pictures of frosty trees.
But usually too warm snow or frost to stay a while.

Finally I got a nice shot and painted one.

Enough for snow scene a while...

I picked one of summer scene photo and just finished yesterday.
Go back to blue and green, my signature color. 

Snow snow snow.... continues.

Once we thought snow was over but here comes again!

So I had many chances to take pictures of snow scene for my paintings. 
But it was quite a challenge for walking in the mounted snow aside of the road and uncleared side walk.

But I made it!!!

Snow snow snow!

We usually don't have much snow in Squamish but we have so much snow this winter. Also quite cold too. 

It was -10C in this morning. But I went out for taking pictures for my paintings.
So quiet and the air was crisp! 

The second painting in 2017

I started this painting at the end of November, 2016.
But finished just now.

I love painting sky, mountains, trees and water together.
That makes perfect for my landscape paintings. 

The first painting of this year, 2017.

It's been a great year, 2016. I finished 20 paintings and 8 paintings were sold.
I've never painted so many paintings and never could sold more than 3 in a year before. 

I started this painting early December and just finished the new year day of 2017.
So this is the first painting of this year.
